Thank you.
To everyone who spent time with us at The Good Wolf,
Thank you.
What started as a passion for craft became a room full of strangers turning into regulars, musicians becoming family, long nights, loud songs, quiet conversations, and more shared beers than we could ever count.
Last week, The Good Wolf closed our doors to the public.
There are a thousand things we could say, a lot of complex emotions, but mostly we just feel grateful. Grateful to the artists who played our stage. Grateful to the staff who gave this place its heart. Grateful to every person who walked through the door and chose to spend part of their life with us. We got to see kids grow up, made so many lifelong friends, and came to understand just how many exceptional people live in our community. We felt like we belonged.
We know that Truckee is an outdoor paradise, and one of the most beautiful places in the world, as it continues to grow and change, we hope people continue to fight for the kinds of places that gives our town its cultural soul; Independent venues, local businesses, small stages, weird ideas, community gathering spaces, and places that make room for creativity. These places survive because we choose to support them, protect them, and believe they are worth keeping alive.
Places like this only exist because people like you believe in them and support them.
We don’t know exactly what comes next yet, but we know The Good Wolf was the proudest chapter in our journey. Your belief fundamentally changed our lives and we move forward with hope, a heart filled with love, and an untarnished sense of purpose.
Thank you for giving us the chance to build it.
It was our honor and privilege to serve you.
With love,
Matt & Heidi

We would also like to personally thank Pat, who was a constant source of support and mentorship, and the first to believe in us; the Truckee Hot Club, a group of the most talented local musicians and artists who generously donated their time and energy week after week; All of our incredible staff, who set the bar for service and was the strength and backbone of our business; Jason Fike, who works tirelessly to facilitate the arts in our community; All of the local artists and musicians who shared their craft; Drew from Dark Horse, the upper to our downer; All of the amazing local businesses that took a chance on us and served our (sometimes challenging) beer; And lastly, those of you who supported us through all the years. There are far too many to list, but we can see your faces lighting the dark.
They are beautiful.
βThank you from the bottom of our hearts.
